Once again the Cranbury Public Library is participating in the Books to Keep program. Now until December 15th the Library is collecting donations of new hardcover and paperback books for distribution to disadvantaged children and young adults throughout Middlesex County during the Holiday season.
Since 1990, the Libraries of Middlesex have been promoting literacy in this unique outreach program. Last year alone Books to Keep distributed 10,000 books to day care centers, Head Starts, soup kitchens and various other social service agencies. Our main goal is to connect children to books and promote literacy in the home. Through Books to Keep we hope to make parents aware of library services in their communities.
We also encourage you to support this worthwhile program with a monetary donation. Because Books to Keep is a volunteer-based program all contributions will go towards purchasing books. A contribution of $100 can purchase new paperbacks for 20 children. Donation envelopes are available in the Library or you may write a check payable to the Libraries of Middlesex and mail it to Books to Keep c/o Monroe Township Library, 4 Municipal Plaza, Monroe Township, NJ 08831.
Thank you for investing in the future with Books to Keep. Together we can promote literacy within Middlesex County.
