Children’s Book Week is May 12-18! – From Youth Services
While I’m happy we choose to honor children’s books this special week, at the library we honor books for kids every day! If your child doesn’t have a public library card, get them one and let them use it. Do your children have a hard time picking out titles? Ask a librarian for ideas. If you’re looking for a way to work reading into your family life, get a library card for yourself and make going to the library a habit.
We have a new program at the library – 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. Read just three books a night for a year and you’ll read more than 1000! Join up and see that your child is prepared for school in the best possible way. Be sure to sign up for the summer reading too. It’s an easy way to incentivize reading during vacation.
