The Other Son is a thought provoking foreign film. It is the story of a Palestinian and Israeli baby who are switched at birth. When the boys are 18 the mix up is exposed. The film explores all of the issues the families must deal with as they grapple with the reality of the situation. There are intense political and religious ramifications. The film conveys all of the emotions you would expect mothers, fathers and brothers to have as they come, over the course of the film, to accept both boys regardless of religious and political differences. The viewer becomes emotionally invested in the outcome for both families. It is a very moving story. The film also provides a glimpse of what life is like in this volatile region. A must see!
